When I was single, I thought having a boyfriend would give me worth. I assumed everyone would look at me as someone with value just because I was in a relationship. As if I would somehow now be this great person where everything falls into place and is given to me just because this one person recognized my value.

While it takes just one person to see one’s worth, that person isn’t a romantic partner—it’s yourself.

I share this because I know I’m not alone in these feelings. It’s a common occurrence: looking for your worth in someone or something else. But how far does that get you? In truth, and in my experience, it leads to the same cycles and patterns being repeated until you find your inherent worth on your own.

Everyone has to learn the “hard way,” aka, find within what you are seeking out.

I want you to take a second to think if there is anything you are “dying” to have. Is there something you want that you don’t feel “complete” without? Is there something you don’t have that leads to you assuming negative things about yourself?

Or does a current relationship (romantic or not) lead to negative thinking about yourself? Do you feel at fault or to blame for what you wish you could have? (For example, “If I were more valuable, I wouldn’t be in this situation.”)

Now, if you were to obtain said thing (a romantic partner, a peaceful relationship with your mom, a promotion, a trip, etc.) tomorrow, what would that tell you about yourself? How would you then feel?

Do any of these words come to mind? Worthy. Deserving. Loved. Important. Recognized. Valued. Validated.

If yes, then it’s likely you’re searching for your inherent value in an external scenario. The scenario being what you are “dying” to have. This will especially be the case if you can think back to repeating situations.

For example, are you dating the “same” person just with a different face? Are you in the same type of job dynamic where anything you do is never good enough for your boss? Do you keep having the same fights with someone significant in your life?

The scenario at play here will look different for everyone, but the motive is the same: searching for one’s value and worth outside of oneself.

While it’s worth looking into where these feelings of “lack” originate from, this post is about shedding light on each individual’s worth. When one instills positive beliefs about oneself, real changes begin to manifest in one’s life. The main thing to know and believe, wholeheartedly, is your worth.

You are worthy just as you are in this current moment. With all the baggage you feel you have, with all the good and the bad, you are worthy, you are someone of value, and you are deserving of all your wildest dreams just as you are in this moment.

It takes nothing more than you just being you to be someone of value. Someone important, loved, and deserving.

You will likely not feel radically different after reading this post, but I hope it’s the first step. I hope it is the first day of many that you tell yourself how valuable you are. The more you tell yourself, the more you will believe it wholeheartedly, and that is where change happens in your external world.

You will be amazed at how easily the thing you are searching for (e.g. love) finds its way to you once you instill your value into your brain. It took some time and healing for me to fully know that fact. But, once I let it fully sink in, my boyfriend came into my life effortlessly.

I am no different, and of no greater value, than I was before I met him. I also don’t think of myself any differently just because he’s in my life. I found what I was looking for deep down within me (value) and received what I was looking for on the surface (love).

Recently, someone asked how I would feel if the rest of my life was more of the same. Without a thought, I laughed out loud. Don’t get me wrong, I love my life. Today is perfect. But would I want tomorrow to be a Xerox copy? Uh, no. Hard pass.

What feels great today might not strike my fancy at all in the future. I can’t wait to see the newness that shows up tomorrow. Change is my friend.

As I am prone to say, we are all a product of where we’ve been. I am no exception.

I grew up in a family where dinner was served at 6:00 pm. Not 5:59. Not 6:01. Taco Tuesday hadn’t been invented yet, but the fam most definitely embraced Meatloaf Monday.

Our family did things as they had always been done—with the firmly established belief that if there were a better way, they would have found it already. I cannot begin to express how that life made my skin itch.

At the ripe old age of 12, at that aforementioned dinner table, I announced I could not wait to move to New York City. Why NYC? From my adolescent perspective, it was the antithesis of my Kentucky hometown—where being cast from a different mold was…well, unwelcome.

Your penny loafers best be Weejuns, young lady, else’n you’ll never fit in. My hero was a classmate who put string on an oatmeal box and carried it as a purse.

Creating the Change YOU Want
Life promises one thing only: change. The decision is yours. Dilly-dally around and let life pick for you or take charge and make your world all you would have it be.

Let’s say the one thing you know for sure is that you’d like this year to be different. Seems like a great place to start. Let’s do it.

Step One: Think Differently
If you want your life to be different, you need to think and act differently.
Can we agree on this starting place? If we keep doing what we’ve always done, we can only expect more of the same. Agreed? Let’s create the change we want to see!

Step Two: Accept the Now
Start with accepting your current circumstances.
I cannot overstress the importance of this step. You must embrace your place to start anew. You just happened to have landed here—a stop on the journey to where you want to be.

  • Accept that where you are is not who you are.
  • Forgive yourself, them, everyone.
  • Release any blame/anger/resentment toward yourself or anyone else. (I know. Not easy but crucial.)
  • Replace any leftover negative self-talk with a mantra of emotional release. (Something like “I release all emotions that are not in my best interest.”)

Rinse and repeat this process until you have released any and all negative emotions attached to your current life. I mean it. The rest of the steps need you to finish this first.

Step Three: What’s Next?
Prepare to pivot by picking your future.
What floats your boat?

  • Finding a new job that keeps you challenged?
  • Being able to finish that 10K with a smile?
  • Adding to your collection of belt buckles from around the world?

Take your time. Make sure it feels right. Pick things that make your heart sing.

Once you’ve finalized your fancy, you can move on. Things will start to change once that decision is made and your intention is set.

Step Four: Open Up
Let’s create a new habit of opening up to all the everything everywhere.

You’ve completed your release, leaving you with an open heart able to embrace a new and exciting existence. The goal is to pay attention to people, places, and things you skipped right over. Become the wide-eyed four-year-old version of yourself—in awe of a world full of wonderous everything everywhere. Think Christmas or birthdays, surrounded by the gifts of life, all yours to enjoy.

If this is new to you, it may take some practice. Try doing what you usually do but in new ways:

  • Less autopilot, more in the moment
  • Talk less, listen more
  • Just say yes to trying something new

You’ll be amazed at what shows up. By widening your scope, you’ll automatically open up to new thoughts, ideas, and adventures. And new is what we’re after. Your open eyes and heart will work miracles when we get to…

Step Five: Take Action
Make a move in the direction of your goal. Any move. Open doors and peek inside. Yes, you can open more than one door, you rule-breaker, you! Don’t like any of the doors? As Mike Dooley says, pick the least sucky ones.

Get the momentum going! Movement is essential. Left foot, right foot. Steps of any size. There’s a reason it’s called “chasing your dreams.”

If you feel lost, take a breath, forgive yourself, and start over.

  • Embrace change
  • Accept your now
  • Stay open to what’s new
  • Keep your eye on the prize
  • Step to the beat of your new life, enjoying the view

Keep the momentum going and magic will follow. Who knows what may happen next? The fam may start eating dinner at any old time.

Is Money Spiritual? https://www.tut.com/is-money-spiritual/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=is-money-spiritual Thu, 30 Jan 2025 16:41:15 +0000 https://www.tut.com/?p=16772 The post Is Money Spiritual? appeared first on TUT.

Do you believe that money can be spiritual?

Of course it is!

But if you want it or try to accumulate it out of fear, it will elude you. Whereas, if you love it and the freedom it offers, it will beat a path to your door.

Everything is spirit.

There’s nothing wrong with aspiring to the freedom money can give you, or, for that matter, aspiring to possess money itself.

The notion that people with money aren’t spiritual is simply not a “rule.” Just look at what you can do with lots of money:

  • Is it unspiritual to have raised $10 million, so that you could give $2 million to a charity serving the hungry? Isn’t this spreading the wealth and the love?
  • What if you used your money to set up college scholarships for your children and grandchildren? Or to take them on international trips to witness firsthand different cultures around the planet?
  • Or to create a business and employ people while accumulating wealth for your family?
  • Or, after a great run of 5, 10, or 20 years as an investor-entrepreneur, to incorporate your own nonprofit organization that brings technology, computers, and the Internet to underdeveloped parts of the world?

Not that you even have to give anything away; there’s nothing wrong with making money just because doing so makes you happy.

These are freedoms that only money offers. Not that wonderful things can’t also be done without money, and, of course, you can definitely be happy without it!

It’s your life, your prerogative to pursue abundance or not.

Either way, it’s time to clear up the notion that material wealth is somehow not spiritual.

If you knew that you could manifest more abundance into your life by making a few simple changes to your thoughts, words, beliefs, and actions… would you be willing to try it?

Here are 9 ideas to try (choose ONE of them or all of them – and see what unfolds):

1: Dream! Define your desired end result, your desired abundant lifestyle!

This is what you already tell your children: “Dream, because dreams do come true!” And it’s because you instinctively know it’s true. Thoughts become things. So, it’s incumbent upon you to start dreaming again, and because it matters to you, specifically about abundance.

Imagine the nuances of a life lived in luxury. Make a list of details about the house and where it’s going to be and the roof it’s going to have and whether or not you’ve got a view of the woods or a lake or the mountains—get into the specifics. List, list, list, list! Define abundance in your terms.

Not how you’re going to create it, but what your life will be like after you have it. Where are you going to go? Who are you going to go there with? What’s going to be your first new hobby? What will be your next dream?

2: Visualize daily.

It’s the least you can do to get the most. If you understand that thoughts become things, this exercise gives you the opportunity to deliberately choose and think the kind of thoughts you’d like to physically manifest in the world. Give yourself a few minutes every day to think thoughts of living in abundance, as if you already had it.

3: Create vision boards, scrapbooks, post quotes up around your home.

Another way to steer your wandering imagination to the kind of “things” or circumstances you’d like to physically experience in your life: put pictures on your refrigerator, your bathroom mirror, in your purse, in your wallet, in your car.

This is just feeding the fire of thoughts becoming things. These props will remind you constantly of “who you really are,” as represented by your collection of photos and quotes.

4: Until you know what to do, master what’s before you.

What’s the alternative? Quit your job and wait? Until you know what you’re going to do, and you can do it, keep your day job. Not forever! Not to settle for less! But because quitting, to do nothing, would be most unproductive. And if you don’t know what to do, quitting to do something else you’re uncertain about would be similarly pointless. If you’re not sure what else to do, keep doing what you’re doing, but do it better.

5: Do the obvious, constantly trying new things.

If you’re at a loss for what exactly to do next, maybe because you’re out of work or just starting up something brand new, consider doing what your peers, others in your shoes, do. It matters far less what you do than that you do it, just so you’re doing something that makes some logical and intuitive sense to you regarding moving toward abundance.

The greatest way to spark new opportunities and possibilities in your life, including those for abundance, is to be constantly trying new and different things. The more you do, the more the Universe can do for you.

6: Align your beliefs with abundance.

1. Name as many beliefs as you can that would support you and your dreams, and then…

2. behave, in some small way, daily if possible, as if those beliefs were actually yours.

So, for abundance, the kind of beliefs that would support you might be:

  • there’s enough for everyone
  • money is pure spirit and can be a noble value for one’s time and energy
  • your thoughts become things
  • you having “yours” will help others get “theirs”
  • having money will help you support your favorite charities
  • everything you touch turns to gold, you are always surrounded by wealth and abundance
  • you are a money magnet

Make your list, add to it often, weigh each item in your thoughts again and again until you see their validity and truth. Speak them, claim them, and act as if they are yours.

7: See everything you do as a stepping-stone to greatness.

Perspectives rule, and you always get to choose what yours will be. It’s not settling for less when you go to a job that’s not your dream job if you choose to see it as a stepping-stone to “better,” to see it as temporary, to see it as enabling the Universe to reach you in ways it couldn’t otherwise. This perspective alone will change how you feel each day, improving the opportunities that will, indeed, be drawn to you.

8: For direction, consider all you like and love.

Too many people want to be the next version of their favorite rock star, business icon, or sports hero—instead of just being the best version of themselves. You have what no one else has, you feel what no one else feels, and you can dream of things that no one else can dream of—seize this!

It’s why “God” chose to be you. You are sacred! Necessary! Loved! Be you! And since abundance can come from literally any vocation, as you can readily see the world over, choose among the vocations that resonate with you and make you excited to be alive.

9: Go! Start! Now! Today!

Something to understand from the mechanics we’ve already reviewed for bringing about life changes is that: If you want change, you have to physically go first.

So, if you want to live in greater abundance:

How will you change? And when will you start?

These are two questions that deserve your immediate attention. Remember, knowing the truth is never enough to change your life; you must act on it.

BIG Love,

   Mike

]]>
At certain times in your life journey, you may intuitively feel that a new idea or a new way is calling to you. Yet, you aren’t quite sure how to grasp it.

You may feel stuck in the “same-old, same-old” routine, or changes occur where you seem to be more reactive than proactive; external influences over which you feel you don’t have much control often make the decisions for you.

Or when the easiest way is to do what you have become used to: “Yes, I can help you with that; I have the time.” Or that any spare capacity becomes immediately absorbed by the next “thing” just rolling in, leaving no time for beneficial changes to take place.

However, here at Qiki Gong we have discovered a way to help—“thank goodness” we hear you say. We have termed this your “Almost-Vacuum to Life-Shift.” In this article you will see how it has guided us and could potentially guide you too.

Why an Almost-Vacuum?

Apparently, a perfect vacuum isn’t possible because quantum theory dictates that energy fluctuations known as virtual particles are constantly popping in and out of existence, even in empty space. One theory indicates maybe our universe was created by these “things” popping in and staying.

A New Term, A New Way to Feel, to Try…

When required, you will instinctively know. Visualize a place in your mind, in your Being which is totally empty—this is your almost-vacuum (A-V). Being an A-V means it cannot be influenced or pressured by internal or external things—as there is nothing to affect or be affected. A beautiful place.

Slowly feel virtual particles bouncing in and out of existence (in non-linear time), meeting with your intuition, your lighter/higher self, your sub and superconscious. They may suddenly bring you a new idea, a new way—which will be extremely powerful and beneficial for your emotional, spiritual, and physical well-being.

Your life will have shifted—even if just a fraction. Hence we call this a life-shift

The beauty is that Believing and Trusting is all that is required to provide the energy to turn the virtual particles (quanta) into vibrations which rapidly expand and absorb into your very Being.

As if from nowhere, you feel embraced by different ideas and ways which can bring newness to enhance life, to refresh and empower. All without the need for contemplation, meditation, or even focus. You are just giving this awesome A-V the tiny room it needs. What occurs will be for your greater good.

This is the power of you and your almost-vacuum.

To give you a real-life experience, we briefly summarize the birth and expansion of Qiki Gong from an A-V.

In late 2019, we boldly entered a joint A-V, which brought us the idea to offer our first article to a magazine. This was published—wow! We still remember the phone call when Ruthie told Alan. This gave us such a boost of confidence; ok, not world shattering, yet it was the first whoosh of Qiki quanta exploding into existence.

In early 2020, we had to stop more than 15 years of helping people face-to-face, so, yes, we popped into another A-V, which reinforced that we didn’t need to go online, which everybody seemed to be doing; we could be different.

We made two Qiki Gong masterclasses; Ruthie learning how to turn them into movies. We took photos in Nature every day through those restricted times, shared them with each other for fun, then another A-V with the idea of creating positive affirmations and producing two beautiful books.

Now we have an elegant website and more than 50 inspirational Qiki movies on YouTube, even though neither of us had ever uploaded anything on there before. We also have more than 30 published articles in two international magazines and here on TUT.com. Such a massively In-Joy-able time for us, and we have been told how our ideas help others. Our Universe had expanded exponentially.

In late 2024, feeling a bit “stale,” we jumped into a passing A-V. Another bold way came—to stop writing as many articles. Giving us another Qiki-shift, a new Qiki dimension, and, consequently, as we explore other possibilities, we are adding to our portfolio with guided visualizations.

The essence of our first visualization comes from Alan, who had never written anything like this before, enhanced by Ruthie, who also enchantingly guides you through “A Beautiful Journey of Discovery,” which we hope you will Be In-Joy listening to on our YouTube channel.

May Your Journey Continue with Glorious Life-Shifts

When you feel an inkling or vibration that change is in the air, simply remind yourself that your almost-vacuum exists; then, as if by magic, an idea can come. That is all it takes—oh, and maybe a little Trust.

We hope this article inspires you to find your almost-vacuum and helps you to feel refreshed, renewed, and enhances your life.

Qiki Gong (pronounced cheeky) is our art. It is all about giving you ways to help yourself by playing with Universal energies in a lighthearted way, always with a focus on your feelings and imagination, nourishing and nurturing you. Qi (chee) from China and Ki (key) from Japan both translate as life-force / energy.

Everything is spirit.

Material things all the more so because they’ve been thought about and believed in so much that they’ve shown up!

The notion that people with money aren’t spiritual is simply not a “rule.” Just look at what you could do with lots of money.

  • Is it unspiritual to have raised $10 million, so that you could give $2 million to a charity serving the hungry?
  • What if you used your money to set up college scholarships for your children and grandchildren?

Not that you even have to give anything away. There’s nothing wrong with making tons of money just because doing so makes you happy.

These are freedoms that only money offers. Not that wonderful things can’t also be done without money, and, of course, you can definitely be happy without it. It’s your life, your prerogative to pursue abundance or not. Either way, it’s time to clear up the notion that material wealth is somehow not spiritual.

Here are 21 steps to help you open the floodgates of abundance in your life:

Step 1: Dream! Define your desired end result (your desired abundant lifestyle).

Thoughts become things. So it’s incumbent upon you to start dreaming. Make a list of details about whatever you’re dreaming about—get into the specifics. List, list, list, list! Define abundance in your terms. Not how you’re going to create it, but what your life will be like after you have it.

Step 2: Visualize daily.

Give yourself a few minutes every day to think thoughts of living the life of your wildest dreams, as if you’re already living it.

Step 3: Create vision boards, scrapbooks, post quotes up around your home.

Another way to steer your wandering imagination to the kind of “things” or circumstances you’d like to physically experience in your life: put pictures on your refrigerator, your bathroom mirror, in your purse, in your wallet, in your car. This is just feeding the fire of thoughts becoming things.

Step 4: Until you know what to do, master what’s before you.

What’s the alternative? Quit your job and wait? Until you know what you’re going to do and you can do it, keep your day job. Not forever. Not to settle for less. But because quitting, to do nothing, would be most unproductive. And since you don’t know what to do, quitting to do something else you’re uncertain about would be similarly pointless.

Under your circumstances, to be clear, not only should you stay put, but you should master what’s before you. In other words, keep doing what you’re doing, but do it better. This is how to free yourself from it.

Step 5: Do the obvious, constantly try new things.

The greatest way to spark new opportunities and possibilities in your life, including those for abundance, is to be constantly trying new and different things. The more you do, the more the Universe can do for you.

Step 6: Align your beliefs with abundance.

Name as many beliefs as you can that would support you and your dreams, and then behave, in some small way, daily if possible, as if those beliefs were actually yours.

Step 7: See everything you do as a stepping-stone to greatness.

Step 8: For direction, consider all you like and love.

Too many people want to be the next version of their favorite rock star, business icon, or sports hero—instead of just being the best version of themselves. You have what no one else has, you feel what no one else feels, and you can dream of things that no one else can dream of—seize this!

Step 9: Go! Start! Now! Today!

If you want change, you have to physically take action.

Step 10: Don’t attach to details or insist upon cursed “hows” or “whos.”

In all things, let the Universe connect the dots, manage the details. By all means, visualize your desired details as they fit into the mosaic of your abundant, rocking life, but do not insist upon the details, only upon your rocking life. Visualize the details to get you excited about your end results, not to be your end results. You thereby allow room for “even better.”

Step 11: Get a little logical.

Getting a little logical, or even a little practical, is an excellent way to stir up life’s magic. With logic you can map out or deduce where your next opportunity may lie, you can go to these hot spots, you can calculate which stone to turn over, you can judge which door to knock upon.

Step 12: Face fears as they arise.

Fear is a tool for revealing you had a chink in your armor that you didn’t even know you had, which can now be filled in, buffed down, and made to shine.

Step 13: Playfully prepare the way for your inevitable “arrival.”

Get ready now! Whatever it is you’ve ordered, prepare the way. Have a celebration party. Get the new business cards. Do stuff for its arrival, because it’s coming! Even if you can’t afford “new furniture” right now, can you afford the “pillow set”? Buy it, make this demonstration, act as if you know you can soon buy the matching “sofa and chairs.”

Step 14: Do not judge your progress, or seeming lack thereof, with your physical senses alone.

Your physical senses cannot see the magic and miracles lining up behind the curtains of time and space. You have to complete the journey, and actually arrive, in order to know the system didn’t fail you. Then and only then do all the miracles become apparent.

Step 15: Constantly ask for help, guidance, and ideas.

Ask anybody and everybody who’s ever achieved as you now dream of achieving for help. Don’t be afraid. Don’t think it’s beneath you.

Step 16: Constantly offer help, guidance, and ideas.

Similarly, be there for others. This is not to evoke the sympathy and appreciation of “God.” There’s no such judgmental entity “out there.”

Don’t be helpful to impress anybody; do it because when you help somebody else, particularly with something you would like help on, you get to be the one who makes a difference in the world, and as a mighty perk, through helping others, you’ll suddenly see yourself in a brand-new light and far more objectively.

Step 17: Surround yourself with like-minded people, and if you can, for the purpose of these steps, wealthier people.

Their viewpoints, perspectives, and conversations will help align your thoughts and beliefs with those that portray the possession of abundance as “normal.” Fear not, however; if you don’t have such connections, you will not be handicapped.

Step 18: Understand you were born to succeed.

You are here to play and succeed, joyfully and lovingly, in time and space, without limit.

Step 19: Rest, play, take time off.

These steps are not about working longer and harder. They’re about being wiser during whatever time you give to creating abundance while living a balanced life.

Step 20: Be exceedingly fair and aggressively responsible.

To be fair and responsible in society is to realize that you are all truly One, that everybody is doing their best, life is more than fair, you are powerful, and through cooperation, all win… and so you shall.

Step 21: Celebrate often.

As you send out joy, your life draws in joy, and the reasons for your joy will multiply. Celebrate that you have what you have, and celebrate in advance for what’s coming, materially and ethereally.

BIG Love,
     Mike

So many times the New Year comes round and we try to force it into our idea of what we think it should be.

I used to set resolutions each year about how I would suddenly begin to measure up to my idea of what I should be and do. At that time I hadn’t figured out how to manage blood sugar and eat natural sustaining foods, so those were the hungry days of January.

So many of us go through January hungry after the feasting of the holiday season. My guess is that we are not just hungry for food. I reckon we are also hungry for a new kind of allowing.

By tying ourselves into knots to meet resolutions is this a state of allowing? Is it accepting that angels are completely delighted with you just as you are? Or, if you are science brained, that all of the big bang and what followed after it ended up with you being you, even with those few extra pounds?

Nope.

What if instead of coming down on yourself this year like the New Year Police, you allow yourself to be what you want to be?

Here are some ideas:

  1. If you want to lose weight, allow yourself to eat gorgeous, healthy foods.
  2. If you want to meet your perfect partner, allow yourself to love yourself first.
  3. If you want that job that you think is out of your reach, allow yourself to figure out what your first steps are and then take one of them, bravely.
  4. If you want to give up smoking, allow yourself beautiful environments in which to breathe cool clean air.
  5. If you want to stop drinking or taking drugs, allow yourself to discover how to get a feeling of intoxication that does not harm you or others.
  6. If you want to leave a legacy, allow yourself to start small with those you love.
  7. If you want to be treated better, allow yourself to have boundaries.
  8. If you want to take up a new learning challenge, allow it to be play.
  9. If you want to move somewhere else, allow yourself to appreciate where you are.
  10. If you want to live a life without regret, allow yourself to begin on your true path now.

One of the reasons allowing can be difficult is that we get caught up in old patterns from childhood about what was allowed and what wasn’t. You are allowed to choose for yourself now as a responsible and moral individual.

So rather than decide upon straightjacket resolutions, what can you (with all good grace and a true heart) allow for you? The Universe has already allowed it. You’re the one who needs to buy in.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
—C. G. Jung.

Have you ever found yourself in a place or situation you’ve said you don’t want to be in? Unsure why you’re feeling the feelings you’ve said you don’t want to feel anymore? It’s exhausting and disheartening to say the least. So, why does this pattern keep repeating?

First, I want you to think of your mind as an iceberg. The tip of the iceberg (what one can see) is your conscious thoughts and feelings. Thoughts and feelings like “I’m angry,” “I don’t like this,” and “I want _______.” The tip of the iceberg is what is easily accessible and known to us.

However, our minds don’t stop there. We also have our subconscious mind, the submerged part of the iceberg. As we all know, the submerged part is the largest. So, what does that mean for us? That the largest part of our brain isn’t of “use”?

On the contrary. Our subconscious mind is what’s running the show we call our lives. That is especially the case when one hasn’t taken the time to get to know their true (aka subconscious) beliefs about themselves and their life.

Those beliefs are the root of one’s thought and behavioral pattern—what our lives make up. It is what leads a person to repeat the same patterns over and over again and be in the same place one is saying they no longer want to be in.

Mike Dooley is known for his saying “thoughts become things” and that couldn’t be more true. The thoughts we have create our lives. But what happens when our true, deep-rooted, subconscious thoughts and feelings don’t align, or, worse yet, conflict with the conscious thoughts one is saying to change their life?

You’re left in the same place you’ve been and not understanding why that is so. A subconscious thought is always going to override a conscious one, thus why so many people get “stuck” and aren’t able to manifest their desires.

For example, let’s say you are trying to manifest the love of your life who treats you amazingly, values you, is kind, plans for the future, etc. But, instead of finding your prince charming, you keep finding yourself with a bunch of frogs. Frogs as in people who don’t respect, care, love, and value you in the way you’re (consciously) looking for.

This leaves you feeling alone, not cared for, not loved, not chosen, not valued, confused, and hurt, time and time again. If this is you, and you no longer want this to be you, it’s time to uncover the hidden (subconscious) beliefs you have about yourself and the beliefs you have around love.

Those beliefs are attracting the frogs. Those beliefs are running the show and dictating the events that play out in your life.

In short, you manifest (create what is your life) from your subconscious beliefs.

If you find yourself in the same place over and over, spend time excavating your subconscious beliefs around that situation. The key here is to do so in a curious, loving, nonjudgmental way, as if you are an observer getting to know someone else.

Side note: There truly is no reason to ever judge yourself. The beliefs you uncover might appear scary and you might be surprised that’s how you truly feel, and that’s okay. That’s normal. Those beliefs are covered for a reason; they’re not necessarily pleasant. That’s why it’s important to get to know them, love them, and heal them, so you can catch your subconscious mind up with your conscious desires.

The best way to uncover subconscious beliefs is to ask yourself questions. For example: How did the last person you dated make you feel? Not cared for? Not chosen? Not valued? Not loved? Do those feelings feel familiar?

Can you think of someone else who has made you feel that way? Can you recall the first time you’ve felt that way? Who made you feel that way? Is that the story you’ve been telling yourself since?

Your answers are your subconscious beliefs—the very beliefs that are running the show!

Let’s say you answered that your parents made you feel unloved growing up. Can you see how you’ve been attracting people who mirror and “confirm” that belief? The very people you have been consciously trying to avoid!

Now that you have your answer, you can begin to heal that wound (feeling unloved as a child) and instill new beliefs (that you are so lovable). That is when you’ll find your prince charming. Your subconscious beliefs will now be aligned with your conscious desires to then manifest that reality!

This can be applied to everything and anything in one’s life. If you feel like you’re in a cycle that keeps leading to the same outcome, that’s a clear indicator there’s a subconscious belief blocking your conscious desire.

That tells you to tune into yourself, get curious, and go deep to uncover the hidden root belief to then exchange it with an updated one. Only then will you receive your manifestation!

How to Live Your Best Life with the Power of Affirmations https://www.tut.com/how-to-live-your-best-life-with-the-power-of-affirmations/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=how-to-live-your-best-life-with-the-power-of-affirmations Fri, 22 Nov 2024 16:00:00 +0000 https://www.tut.com/?p=16344 The post How to Live Your Best Life with the Power of Affirmations appeared first on TUT.

Ready for the best life has to offer? Excellent! Let’s do this thing.

First, why do you think you’ve settled for less so far? Because of where you were before you got here. The things you soaked up along the way—from people you respected and loved who may or may not have had your best interests at heart. (They didn’t know any better—forgive them.)

The end result? The birth of those little voices—the negative self-talk that says you’re not smart enough, hardworking enough, whatever enough. (I’ve never talked to a woman who didn’t know exactly what I meant when I said “little voices,” so I’ll just leave that here.)

If you’ve mastered those self-limiting beliefs already, then well done you. If you’re still working on your “Living Your Best Life” merit badge—let’s keep going.

How do you define “the best” when it comes to you? Not your kids, students, family, friends. You, my darling. You.

Let’s create a wanna-have list. Write a couple sentences describing your perfect dream world. Let’s take a look. Does your list include the BEST or the OK-FOR-NOW? Is it an I’ll-settle-for-this list?

  • A new used car or your dream 1972 Karmann Ghia convertible?
  • A day-trip to Bisbee or the Great Migration Safari in Tanzania & Kenya?
  • Figuring out a new way to stretch your budget or finishing your master’s degree and getting that promotion?

You don’t have to settle for less than the best just because that’s what you’ve always had.

Each of us, and I mean each of us, creates our own lives. Regardless of what happened before, you can conjure up the life of your dreams—by believing you can do it.

We’re gonna diffuse those joy-sucking, word-bomb little voices right now with the power of affirmations.

I discovered affirmations 20 years ago, and it was life changing. I am not overstating the result. “I am a strong independent woman in charge of my own destiny”landed me smack dab in middle of the “I love my life” zone.

Here’s how you do it.

  1. Recognize when the voices hit. Don’t argue. Just pay attention.
  2. Respond with your affirmation that kicks that voice to the dust. Say it once. Say it twice. 50 times. As many times as it takes for you to picture and feel the joy—believing, with all your soul, that you have the power to change your life.
  3. Make steps towards your goals, never looking back. Any steps. Opening the next door that presents itself. Open all the doors until you find the right one.

Trust me, strong affirmations are all you need. The voices will get fainter and disappear until they have zero power over your righteousness.

You don’t have any affirmations yet? Color that fixed right now. Do your voices have a theme? Let’s start there. You can use an affirmation that addresses each one individually—or a one-size-fits-all plan of attack. Whichever you’d rather.

There are at least 984 websites that list five billion different affirmations. You could start there, but let’s try it another way: Build some just for you. Because if it comes from you, your heart will sing more quickly. And that, my dear, is the point.

The only rule for affirmations is to keep it positive. Meaning leave out no, not, don’t, never.

  • Counter “I’m so broke I can’t afford anything” with “Miracles happen every day and financial freedom is mine.”
  • Negate “You’re too lazy” with “I love my ability to focus on the task at hand to do things quickly and easily!”
  • Tell “Who are you to think you could do that?” to step aside with “I am capable of doing anything I choose on my personal life journey.”

Now let’s add the secret sauce. As you remind yourself of your immeasurable talent and worth, picture and feel the end result of that affirmation.

  • Waving your new PhD diploma in the air
  • Watching the fam play on that fantastic backyard playground you just built
  • Driving off into the sunset with your new sweetheart

The last, most important, dollop of the secret sauce is knowing that your dreams will come true. You don’t have to know how or when. Just keep the faith. Your job is to hold the vision—the universe takes care of the rest.

So, here’s where I leave you today.

Take your time and craft your personally perfect affirmations. Then use them! Apply liberally as needed. No need to worry about an overdose.

When you’ve outgrown them, upgrade—for free! New and improved dreams are yours for the making anytime.

I have complete faith in your dedication to becoming the best and happiest you. And I’m here for you. All the way.

Did you know that when we meditate our body’s chemistry changes? It’s true! In fact, we experience the opposite of the physiological effects produced by the fight-or-flight and ego responses.

We’re less inclined to perspire, our breathing and heart rate slows, our body’s production of stress hormones decreases, our sex hormone production increases, our growth hormone levels are elevated, our immune system strengthens, and our blood flows more easily throughout our entire body.

As these physiological shifts to our physical body occur, our mind calms, anxiety lessens, stress seems to shed, and there’s an emotional shift in how we respond to unmet needs. This state of restful awareness can last for a moment or through the entire meditation.

The beauty of this process is that the state of restful awareness continues to benefit our bodies even after our meditation session. And as we meditate on a regular basis, we slowly and gently shift our automatic response mechanism to a more unconditioned one.

In the state of restful awareness,

  • we move through situations with greater grace and ease.
  • we’re more reflective and less reflexive.
  • we’re less likely to lash out or have knee-jerk reactions, because we’re not coming from a conditioned space.
  • we’re less impulsive and more intuitive.
  • we’re making more conscious choices, because we intuitively know what is the highest choice in that moment—the one that honors our self and the person we are interacting with; the one that elevates both of us to the highest plane of existence; the one that comes from a heart filled with compassion, forgiveness, and a desire for peace.
  • we’re more open to multiple interpretations of a situation or scenario.
  • we become less attached to our previous interpretations, and our need to defend them feels less urgent.
  • we see the bigger picture—a more expanded landscape—rather than the more narrow view we once had.

Over the first few weeks of daily meditation, this grace, ease, and expanded awareness weave themselves intermittently through our interactions. As we continue to meditate and spend time in stillness, each day becomes more comfortable, restful awareness becomes more and more our natural state, and greater clarity begins to unfold.

It becomes less important to defend our point of view, because we see greater possibilities and creative solutions emerge to once-daunting challenges.

We become more alert, more creative, more intuitive, and more relaxed. We start having anxiety-free days, and stress becomes more manageable. And our first response to unmet needs is no longer the ego response… it’s as if we have reached another level in our emotional evolution.

Our more common response starts to be one of truly resting while we are aware—of silent witnessing before we act out old, conditioned response patterns yet again. This “new” state could also be called restful alertness, because our senses are heightened and we begin to experience a new lightness of being.

Little things don’t irritate us or knock us off course as easily.

We become more fluid in our thoughts and actions. We become more intuitive and creative in our choices and more visionary in our goals. We start seeing miracles unfold in our daily life.
